I've been to Paris several times now and have recently decided that Saint Germain is my favorite neighborhood. When in Paris, I frequently find myself staying in the area all day walking around exploring the beautiful architecture, amazing pastry shops (Laduree is my favorite), wandering through the parks and taking advantage of the awesome shopping and cafes in the area. Needless to say, I can't get enough. During the second half of the trip, we decided we wanted to stay in a boutique hotel so we could feel tucked away in the heart of the city and have access to all of the places we wanted to go by foot. I did a ton of research, but totally lucked out in finding the Hotel Da Vinci - the small, boutique hotel was perfect. I like to try and keep these posts fairly short and to not drone on, so please feel to ask me questions in the comments below - but I will note that Paris gets quite cold in the winter so the log fireplace in the lobby was one of my favorite things about the hotel. On the last day of our trip, we went to Laduree and stocked up on pastries, then sat by the fire in the hotel and devoured them over tea. I can't wait for the next stay.
