24 Hours In London

This year I'm doing something completely different for the holidays, we're headed into France and Italy to enjoy the holidays tucked away skiing in a cabin in the mountains - I can't wait - I really need some time to relax and completely unplug. On the way to France and Italy where I'll be spending the majority of my holiday vacation, I planned a brief stop in London to meet up with my boyfriend who's traveling for much of December as well. We planned to have 2 days together in London, however thanks to mechanical issues with United Airlines (which I've decided I'm boycotting after a string of issues over the last few months) our 2 day trip was reduced to 24 hours. Regardless of the travel issues, we had an amazing time and made the most of our 24 hours together. My boyfriend is English and lived in London for many years so he took me around to all of his favorite spots during the day and I got to plan the evening adventure - I decided on ice skating at one of my favorite places in the world, Somerset House (this is something I've wanted to do for years so it didn't take me long to decide). We stared off our day with English breakfast at Kensington Square Kitchen and a walk around Kensington and Holland Park. From there we stopped by one of the best chocolate shops in London; Hotel Chocolat and where I did a bit of holiday shopping and we grabbed one of their famous hot chocolates to take along with us as we spent the rest of the day exploring London by foot. We ended our day visiting Somerset House where we went ice skating, grabbed a snack at Fortnum and Mason's popup restaurant and store; Fortnum's Lodge, before meeting our London-based friends for dinner Soho House.  My time in London was way too brief, but amazing and I can't wait to go back.
