As I fall deeper into the dark hole which is my addiction to clean beauty - I am becoming increasingly obsessed with trying new products so was thrilled when Nyakio approached me to test some of their new products. I've been battling with some health problems lately so taking care of myself in a holistic way is becoming increasingly more important to me. I'm reading labels more vigilantly than ever, taking my vitamin routine to a new level, and approaching my health with daily dedication rather than periods of sprinting. Before I go on, I'll note that Nyakio really takes clean beauty seriously and formulates without the bad stuff like Sulfates, Parabens, Mineral Oil, Petrolatum, etc. - which already scored them major points with me.

When I test new products, I like to use them over a period of weeks rather than days - I find it hard to tell if my skin likes a new product on Day 1 and that I need to use it for a period of time to see if my skin is truly benefiting from the product and "likes it". So I integrated a variety of Nyakio products into my skincare routine for several weeks and below is my honest review about the products I tried:

Baobab Youth Infused Daily Defense Crème - Let's start with my favorite product, the Baobab Youth Infused Daily Defense Creme. Yes, the name is a mouthful, but the product is amazing. I loved how quickly it absorbed into my skin and I'm even more obsessed with the naturally beautiful scent - light and beautiful. It's formulated using the baobab tree which is rich in vitamin A, E and omegas 3, 6 and 9s - yaaaas! Personally, I'm really loving this product on my neck for its non-greasy yet intense hydration.

Chinese Rice Exfoliating Cleansing Powder - I'm a big fan of rice exfoliating cleansers and I've really enjoyed using this one from Nyakio the last few weeks. It was gentle, yet effective and gave a little extra exfoliation on nights when my skin felt a bit dull. Absolutely love this product, but my one caution is this: remember to close the lid properly - I forgot to do this one time and the next time I opened the lid, the power dumped into my lap. Learn from my mistake please and don't waste your product with this silly mistake! ;)

Chamomile Soothing Sleep Mask - This mask is basically a very thick moisturizer that you can wear overnight and leave on after use or rinse off in the morning. One fun tip is to put the product in the fridge before use for an instant soothing effect - did this during a bath and LOVED. So relaxing. Pretty obsessed with this mask for its cooling and extreme hydration - though I do suggest rinsing it off in the morning.

Kenyan Coffee Body Scrub - Life is always better when you remember to use body scrub, however some body scrubs out there use some not-so-good-for-you ingredients, so remember - read the labels! I'm giving an honest review here so I'll admit, I'm not a fan of the scent of this scrub) though others do love it. However, I do love the effects of this body scrub and the fact that like all Nyakio products, its formulated without Sulfates, Parabens, Mineral Oil, etc. Yay for exfoliated skin, without the bad ingredients!
